PANEL:Creative AI & Neuroscience - How to manipulate our brains & emotions

Text and Picture generating AIs such as ChatGPT, Dall-E. Midjourney etc have come in as a game changer when it comes to our perception of human creativity. The Turing Test does no longer offer a definite proof of humanity. Other AIs revolutionise biomedical discovery and enable advances in neuroscience. Our blueprint, the DNA, is programmable, our emotions are too, be it through music or advertisement. Creative AI and programmable humans - it feels like we already live in a science fiction novel.

How far have we come and what is next?

PANEL: Do Artists still need labels?

100.000 Songs are uploaded on Streaming Platforms each day. Arguably too much creative musical supply meets not enough listener demand. At the same time the market share of artists, who directly release onto these platforms without a label is increasing. And with AI artists like ghostwriter we have now a completely new phenomenon on the rise.

Can artists really do good without labels?

Different stakeholders in the music business ecosystem will discuss this issue.

Past, Present & Future of Berlin´s Electronic Music Scene(s) - Techno, Technology & Beyond

It’s been 34 years since the Wall came down and techno took over Berlin from the underground to the mainstream, from Eimer to Berghain and the Love Parade to the Fuck Parade or Rave the Planet. But electronic music in Berlin not just started with techno. While Munich had Moroder and Düsseldorf had Kraftwerk, Berlin had pioneers like e.g. Tangerine Dream performing as early as 1967 or Boys Noize and Modeselektor creating their own sound. Important instrument companies like Ableton or Native Instruments also started here. Some protagonists of the last decades have a look back on how „the sound of the future“ has come of age and which trends and technologies electronic music we can look forward to.

How is the relationship between bands, brands, influencers and platforms evolving? Is YouTube shorts the new Tik Tok? Is the line between musicians and influencers blurring? And what are influencers influencing for? Money, fame, causes? And does anybody under 25 care, that Tik Tok is actually a chinese company, and the President of the US is trying to get it banned?

This panel shines a light on these questions while giving hands on examples and shows how the influencer industry is evolving.

Since March 2023 China is open again for International Acts and Businesses to come in. But the geopolitical situation has changed since the beginning of Covid. What does it mean for your business? Feel free to ask Philipp any question about China you ever wanted to ask.

He brought more than 200 acts to Asia/China including names like Hot Chip, Royksopp, Daddy G (Massive Attack), Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) or Die Toten Hosen and has consulted government institutions as well as music & tech businesses about the Middle Kingdom and knows some of China´s music & art stars for more than a decade.

Since his return to Berlin in 2020 he has curated GEMA´s massively successful showcase and activation at SXSW 2023 feat. Tangerine Dream, Brandt Brauer Frick (BBF), Roosevelt (DJ), Desire and Eurovision 2022 winners Kalush Orchestra.
