Since his first time in China in 2007, he has worked at one of the world´s largest events, the EXPO 2010 Shanghai, for German Government Agency GIZ and co-founded his own music & creative agency FakeMusicMedia. He brought over 300 artists and speakers to China since (e.g Die Toten Hosen, Hot Chip, Royksopp + many more) and has managed some of China´s best talent (Nova Heart, The Hormones, SHAO).

He has consulted for brands and government organizations on on Chinese Youth Culture, the Music Industry as well as China´s tech ecosystem and is a sought after speaker on those topics at international conferences and universities.

He has authored several reports about the Chinese Music Industry for various organizations and is author of The China Music Industry Report (being released end of 2020).

Before coming to China he worked as a (music) journalist with continental Europe’s biggest broadcaster and holds a master's in International Relations & Economics from the University of Cologne (Latin American Studies).

He is fascinated by the possibilities of AI & VR for the creative sector and DJs sometimes around the world under his moniker Metro Tokyo.
